JUDGE OR BE JUDGED

A man having over 50 hectares of land, during the cultivation seasondecided to prepare and cultivate his farm.Three weeks after cultivation, weeds began to grow on the farm and he paid no attention to removing the weedsfrom his farm.He went ahead doing other things, instead of adressing the problem at hand. His carelessness soon caused the weed to overgrow and choke-up the crops in his farm eventually. The fact that he had the solution to the problem made him all the more relaxed till the seemingly little problem soon cost him the whole crops in the farm.
Many human beings live complacently with issues that are capable of drowning their entire future, even when the solution lies in their hands.I t is very true that such individuals eventually get engulfed in such problems.Medical experts have proven that prevention is better than cure. Most problems get more complex when they are not dealt with at inception. Problems just like viruses keep spreading uncontrollably in it's host, until something is done about it. As children of God,we have every resourse at our disposal mto deal with any problem at inception, except we want it to remain. There is no problem that we face that does not have a solution,no way ,God wouldn't allow it.God cannot come to solve a problem when He has given you a solution, even if u fix your head on the ground and your feet is in the air and you are praying and crying to Him for help.
We  must come to the place of understanding that problems are meant to be adressed and not personalised.Adress your issues today and be free for the judgement of your problems.

God's Refinery

Crude oil in it's raw state contains complex chains of hydrocarbon;having several final products. This products are obtained through a series of processes at different temperatures with different techniques. The technique chosen determines the temperature at which the product will be refined and likewise the outcome. The higher the temperature, the more complex the technique, and the less complex the hydrocarbon chains in the refined product. The process actually breaksdown the hydrocarbon chains, removes all impurities and brings out a pure and refined product.

Likewise,God's refinery is designed to bring us out of our lowly estates where we happen to find ourselves in Adam, into His original plan of being in His image and likeness;having a resemblance of Him in Christ Jesus. The test and trials we pass through on daily basis are not meant todestroy us ,but tobring out the God-life in us,which we recieved when we accepted JESUS.This processof refining could be likened to the needle -eye experience which Jesus described in mathew19vs24.It is usually an excruciating experience;where you have to loose all, just to gain Christ. It is also worthy of note that if you loose all for Christ ,you gain all in Him.

This process of refinement entails letting go of all you had hitherto been used to;at times it may mean seperation from freinds and relatives that contribute negatively to your life.It may breaking off from old habits that have eaten deep into you,and form part of you.It may as well mean havin g to let go of something you deeply cherish. It is only by letting go of those negativities in your life that you can lay hold on eternal life.Being stripped of these things would rather refine you instead of destroying you.

This is just to encourage everyone reading this article to know that God has designed a plan to make you look like Him.Maximize the oppurtunity and become like God here on earth, taking your place as SONS,ruling every situation here on earth in His stead.

If you are reading this article and you have not tet accepted Jesus, lets pray together "LORD JESUS,COME INTO MY HEART,I REPENT OF ALL MY SINS,BE MY LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR,I SURRENDER MY LIFE TO YOU,FROM THIS DAY FORWARD.COME AND MAKE YOUR ABODE IN ME,IN JESUS NAME AMEN".  Congratulations!!!You are on your way to a SUPER-LIFE.

A heart Exposed

A Heart Exposed!

To the one who knows me as I am and still loves me!
Today I bring all of me- my hopes and my fears
My dreams and my doubts, my anger and my past
The part of me that likes to please other people
And the part of me that desires you

Here are my loves
Here are my needs
Here is my hurt
Here is my desire

I bring my gifts as well
All that I am, all that I have
The abilities you gave me
The trainings I have acquired

I bring to you dear Lord
The strength of my convictions
The influence I have with others
The interests and passions that inspire me

I bring all of me to you
My relationships and my needs
My pride and my sins
My calendar, my wallet, my cheque books

My eyes and the things I look at
My heart and all of my thoughts
My tongue and the words I say
My life, my all, my whole being

The hottest battleground in me
A place within where I wrestle
Much struggles and pangs in my heart
That I've not utter to any mortal man

Take me as you find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life, I SURRENDER ALL!

Dear Friend,

This prayer (some of the words from the book "A Heart Exposed") spoke volumes to me and I hope it does to you as well. Often times we tend to have learnt and known so much that we neglect the place where it all began. YIELDING ALL FOR CHRIST!

Please go through the prayer gently, personalize it and I hope that you will mean each line that you read from the depth of your heart. Let it resonate with your actions thereafter.

Sound Judgment

The outcome we obtain in life at any instance is the result of the decision(s) we have taken previously. The most unfortunate thing is that we are not able to predict precisely, the outcome of most of our decisions, before we give our commitment to such a course. Many a times,we plunge ourselves into a particular venture, only to discover at the 25th hour that it is unprofitable, and at such point there is no allowance for withdrawal from the venture. It is also a well-established truth that success or failure tomorrow is anchored on the decisions we make today. Such decisions are highly influenced by the forces at work within and around a person. A decision can be an excellent decision but not the right decision. Sound judgment is that ability to make the right decision at the right time,in the right locality.Taking the right decision at any moment is only possible when you place yourself in the right sphere of influence. Jesus understood this reality when he told his disciples to tarry for the coming of the Holyspirit, further elaborating on what the Holyspirit would do when he comes. God is all-knowing. If our judgment on all issues must be right we must first subscribe to divinity, that he may teach us how to make the right decisions per time(ps.25:9). The fact that we are born again gives us this privileged right to divinity for guidance(1jn2:27).We do not need any additional help from humanity as to what decisions we should take at any point in our lives. The presence of divinity keeps us at an advantage and launches us expressly into the place of sound judgment. The most unfortunate part of the whole story is that many Christians today are either ignorant  or do not believe in the possibility of subscribing to divinity for sound judgment.in every decision they want to make. The good news is that we have  been called to live a SUPER-LIFE, above all obstacles by the help of divinity in us.He enables us at every juncture to make the right decisions. This ensures sound judgment on all issues, bringing out the best in us.

What do you Weigh?

By Nkop Mmekeme

"You must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk." 1.Pet.2:2 (NLT)

The field of Mechanics, a part of Physics, has proven that weight is one of the major factors that contribute to the stability of matter irrespective of how much space it occupies. It takes a greater force to displace a concrete slab than that required to cause such a displacement in a cork of a bigger size. I therefore would concur by saying, the greater the weight of a given object, the higher its stability and hence the greater the force that is required to displace it.

Our focus today is on the need for spiritual weight. We should not be oblivious of the fact that in this race, there are so many forces contending to put us off the track leading to our target. The race gets tougher as we make progress, and this suggests the reason why we all need to gather spiritual weight. We should also understand from our introduction that what you weigh determines how long you can last.

The world has invaded the church today with its systems and methodology, and this constitutes one of the strongest forces contending against the spiritual progress of so many Christians. In the faith today, we witness lots of ill-behaviours which are not befitting of Christians, not because these ones have not truly accepted Jesus into their hearts but because they can not withstand their opposition.

You do not pray to have spiritual weight, you eat to grow in faith and have spiritual weight. The higher you go the stronger the forces designed to pull you down. We should all understand that our only means of staying afloat and surviving to the end is by growing continually and consistently in faith. Gathering spiritual weight is achieved through a steady growth in faith and faith grows by hearing and making use of the word of God in our lives, at all times. This means if you are faced with trials fourteen times in a day, you apply the word of God fourteen times a day. This is how faith grows and spiritual weight is acquired.

Imagine a helicopter, whose propeller is at a very high speed. It blows out of range, any object placed along its path whose weight does not exceed or is commensurate with the force exerted on it by the propeller. It is also easier for a fan to blow away a paper than a book. Today, no matter how much you think you know, give yourself to a consistent study and meditation on the word. It is the only way out.

Prayer:
Lord, help me grow spiritually. I desire to thirst for you as the deer pants for the river brooks. I need you in my life. I want to eat the word daily, I want to drink in your ever-refreshing presence. I love to feast at your table. Enable me meditate and grow fat & strong so that i can become unshakeable

Look Away

 By Nkop Mmekeme

"No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead." Philippians.3:13 (NLT)

Like the saying goes; there is no future in the past. We most often drown ourselves in the oceans of our past, denying ourselves of a more promising future. The problem is always that either we are not able to look away from what we’ve seen or what we are seeing at the present, to what lies ahead of us. So we tend to attach ourselves so much to our present conditions instead of looking at what God has prepared in the future for us.

The experiences of the past however beautiful or ugly are meant to be discarded if we must move forward in life. The fact that you were and still are a champion does not make you a champion tomorrow except you look beyond its glory- the glory of today-  and take the future from today by doing what needs to be done to remain at the top. Also, that you failed today does not make you a failure tomorrow. All which is required of you is the courage to look beyond your present failures, and buckle up by doing what is required for success tomorrow.

Apostle Paul, the writer of our scripture on focus, choose not to be dissuaded by his achievements or failures, but to place his mind on a target which was  his calling, his assignment, his ministry, his goal in life etc. He never reached a point in his ministry where he felt he has arrived or that he cannot go any further until he could say with all conviction to Timotheus in 2.Tim.4v6, "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand." Why would he be bold to say this? See verses 7 and 8: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

Many of our short comings today can be attributed to our attitude towards the race; the feeling of uncertainty over a future that has been guaranteed or the feeling that one has achieved so much, introduces laxity and causes retrogression. This usually comes as a result of our inability to take our focus off the past, and place it on the target which is every Christian’s place of destiny.

There is a call to every Christian today, to continually loosen themselves from the cords of their past and brace up for a more glorious future ahead.

Prayer:
Father, help me to let go of my past: all the disappointments, the heartbreaks, the failures, the broken vows & promises, the mistakes. I thank you for the availability of the blood of your Son, Jesus Christ, that washes me white as snow. Much more beyond my sins, I need you to make me whole. Heal me completely by the power of your Holy Spirit. Save me from what is behind and endow me with the strength today to depend on you that I may be able to focus on what is ahead, that I may be able to run my course from this day henceforth without fault; in Jesus Christ Name. Amen.

No Diplomacy

By Nkop Mmekeme and Araromi Afeh

"But you desire honesty from the heart, so you can teach me to be wise in my inmost being.Psalm.51:6 (NLT)

The lyrics of the popular hymn by Joseph Scriven (1819-1886), "What a friend we have in Jesus" describes our message for today clearly. Our focus today is the line that says, "Oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer."

I have come to discover that many Christians go before God trying to modify the true conditions of their hearts, they become hypocritical in their relationship with God. I tell you, God desires the kind of honesty that emanates from the heart and has no joy in our engaging in diplomacy when we come to present our issues before Him. God expects you to tell him exactly how your situation is because He already sees and knows. All He needs you to do is to acknowledge it before Him, and trustfully let Him take charge and turn the situation of things to your own good.

Remember if God Himself is omnipresent then He is also all-knowing. As such, there cannot be any pretense before Him and He cannot be deceived; so every man automatically gets what he bargains for by his or her attitude towards God. It is worthy to note that our attitude towards God will eventually determine our altitude both in this life and in the life to come.

Let me (Afeh) use something that happened in my life some time ago to explain. At a point, I began to have some emotional attachment towards a certain sister who was my friend. Sincerely, she is gorgeous and I can boldly say that any time and any day, she was a terrific person to hook up with. But I knew within me that my friendship with this dynamic lady wasn't commissioned to tow this new direction. All I had to do was meet with God.

So one night, I talked with God as I paced the floor and it was just like a friend talking with another friend who was in the room. I told the Father how I felt without mincing words, I told Him that I needed His help urgently so I don't do something stupid. God answered. And it was a beautiful thing. God so purged me that all those feelings simply disappeared. It was so easy and simple. I simply talked with my Father concerning the situation and He solved my crisis. Two days later, I discovered that I could enjoy that sister's company without all those emotions that were springing up.

See, God is actually interested in every single thing that happens in our lives, but He would not just intrude into our affairs. No, He would not except we give Him the chance to do so. Most times the problems we face in some aspects of our lives come as a result of not letting God call the shots in those aspects of our lives.

One of the commonest aspects where such problems prevail is in the area of our relationship(s). Many of us are not patient enough to wait for God’s approval before we kick off, as such we end up in crises and come back to ask God ‘’why?’’  Our relationship with God is on the basis that He is in charge of all that goes on in our lives, outside that there is no deal. This is as serious as it could be. No negotiations! No diplomacy!

Today, there is still a chance to put him in charge of all that pertains to you, and see him bring you into a perfect life of all round peace. Bear in mind, your attitude towards God is an important factor in determining your ALTITUDE in life!

Prayer: Dear Lord, i come in honesty of heart before you, laying everything that pertains to me and i ask that you take absolute control in Jesus Name. Amen.

Just As You Are

by Nkop Mmekeme & Araromi Afeh

"Come now, let us argue this out," says the Lord. "No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you as white as wool."  (Isaiah.1:18)

Think about this: the prodigal son returns home from a long stray, the father hugs and welcomes his son into his bosom irrespective of the fact that this son has squandered his resources, He welcomes this son as though there has been no record of wrong against him. The harsh demands for the claim to an inheritance forgotten, the image of the set jaw and face set taunt as a result of a decision: 'I have got to stand up to my dad if i have to get my claims.' is banished from the father's memories; replaced by the worrying of 'what may have become of my son', and the longing of 'only if i can just see him one more time.' If only i can hold him one more time, i will tell him he is forgiven and there is nothing to worry about. I will kiss him and assure him with an embrace that home is right here, that there is no need to stay away. If he refuses to believe and consent, I would gently and persistently entreat of him that my intentions are pure and genuine. And if he agrees i will throw a party to tell everyone that my dead son is alive again.
This is exactly how God waits for us to come into His arms each time we find ourselves outside His placement. We are most often haunted by the guilt of our past and this leaves doubt in our hearts as to our stand with God, and the devil capitalizes on this to further widen the apparent divide between us and God. Most times even when we have been forgiven, we do not forgive ourselves; as such we struggle with a feeling of unworthiness and the end product is that we drown ourselves again in the same sin for which we have been forgiven. The worst kind of pity is self-pity. Would you stop pitying yourself for a moment and listen to what God has said? Why do you dare to call unclean that which God has cleansed?
Today, if this is your experience, God is extending a helping hand to you, asking for a dialogue of reconciliation. He wants you to come to terms with the fact that He had paid the price for that sin you committed and He is waiting for you with open arms to return to His bosom. Heb.4:16 says, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Stand up from the mire of your self-pity. Get washed by the pure water of God's word. and accept the righteousness of Christ Jesus. Irrespective of how deep you think you are swimming in the ocean of sin, He is waiting to say, "welcome home." Jesus is making a direct appeal to you today, saying He had to suffer all sorts of things here on earth, not for Himself but for you, for the sake of the love he has for you.
God knows that you cannot help yourself by yourself. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly... But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Rom.5:6, 8. All you need do is to let go of that sin that has plagued you all the while and run straight into his arms, where God is ready to heal and cleanse you out rightly and restore all that you have lost. He says, "Even if all your friends and loved ones have written you off and abandoned you, I still love and care so much about you. Come right now; come into my arms, just as you are.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I acknowledge you paid the price for my sins, and I pledge my allegiance once more to you who alone is able to preserve my soul and keep me from falling. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Broken Spirit

By Nkop Mmekeme Asuquo

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."  Psalm 51:17 (KJV)

Chemists have been able to prove that the smaller the surface area of a solute particle, the faster the rate of reaction; and the larger the surface area, the slower the rate of reaction. Likewise, God responds faster to a heart that is broken before him in fear and reverence.
This entails becoming nothing before God by surrendering your totality to him, and until you become nothing before God, you are useless to him. Having a broken spirit before God simply means laying down every pride, throne, crown and all we possess, and reverencing God above all else in our lives.
He is not interested in how much sacrifice we can make for him in form of our gifts; be it money, time, strength and so on. All he requires from us when we come before him is the sacrifice of a broken spirit, through which he can bring to pass his perfect plans for creating us. The fulfillment of God’s creation plan is only possible in an atmosphere of brokenness. God is only concerned with the condition of your heart and not with your facial expression or physical gesticulations. The more broken a person is before God, the more attracted he is and the easier he penetrates to work out his good pleasure in such a vessel.
God chooses to show forth his glory in the most unexpected of situations; when the situation defies human solutions, and this is only wrought through vessels that are slain in the place of brokenness. We have seen vessels such as Moses, demonstrated in the crossing of the Red Sea; Esther, demonstrated in a personality transformation from an orphan to a queen which led to the eventual vindication of the Jews; and so many more examples as recorded in the bible and as we see in many of our patriarchs of faith today.

Today ,there is a clarion call to all Christians to return to the place of brokenness, that God may be able to wrought through us, great and mighty things all to his own good pleasure, and to the end that he may bring us into the place of glory where he had prepared for us (the church) before time.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to always remain in the place of brokenness, that your purposes for my life may continually be fulfilled, in Jesus name. Amen.

Expect The Best

By Araromi Afeh Asenah

One of the most powerful laws in this world, a law recognised alike by psychology and religion, namely: if a man changes his mental habits unto belief instead of unbelief, if that man learns to expect, not to doubt; then in doing so, he brings everything into the realm of possibility.

A famous psychologist, William James, once said: "Our belief at the beginning of a doubtful undertaking IS THE ONE THING that insures the successful outcome of your venture" (emphasis mine). To learn to believe is of primary importance. It is the basic factor of succeeding in any undertaking. Simply believe the magic of believing then will you discover that if you expect the worst you will get the worst and if you expect the best you will get the best.

According to Norman Vincent Pearle, the great American motivational writer, speaker, and clergyman; positive results do not yield themselves to the person who refuses to give himself to the desired results. A major key to success in this life, at attaining that which you deeply desire, is to be completely released and throw all there is of yourself into your job or any project in which you are engaged.

In other words, whatever you are doing, give it all you've got. Give every bit of yourself. Hold nothing back for life cannot deny itself to the person who gives life his all. But most people, unfortunately, do not do this. In fact, why few people do- and this is a tragic cause of failure, or if not failure, then it- is the reason we only half attain.

For the next fourteen days, why not determine to train your mind to believe, align yourself to think positively; and along with that, do try to live right. Start each day with a plan of things to do, commit them to God and trust Him to see you through. Your faith should be accomplished with works. Do not just sit down. Go out and work on your plans albeit believing you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you, and that the footsteps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord. Whenever doubt challenges you, whenever unbelief places the ball in your court; all you have to do is to confess these portions of scripture aloud till it overwhelms your consciousness.

Nobody would convince you with arguments that this principle works; for you would see remarkable changes in your life. Do not forget to check the archives of this blog for other life-changing articles. I love you. Jesus loves you much more. Expect the best always!

Stay Lighted

by Nkop Mmekeme

It is practically impossible for light to come on, except there is a source of ignition. The light source and the substrate upon which it acts exist as different entities, until they are bought together in some form. Except an electric bulb is excited with electricity, it doesn't glow.

We all existed at one point in our lives as dark entities until God showed us mercy by sending his son (1.Peter.2:9) to rescue us from darkness into light. God's desire is that we become carriers of light. He is the light and we are the substrates upon which the light is ignited; as our key scripture highlights, His intention is that He may be able to affect the world which has become dark and perverse. This He will perform through His ignition in our spirits. God's heartbeat is that we may be able to fulfill His divine mandate, which is reconciling the world to Himself.

He personally cannot do this, that is why He has given us His mandate in our various spheres of life (2.Corinthians.5:17-19). He does not expect us to be slack concerning this task of reconciling the world. He expects the world to be attracted to His light in us and eventually come to Him (Matthew.5:13-18).

Wherever we go, we must live in the consciousness that we are lighted to light the world and expell darkness, bringing men into the knowledge of God. It is our duty to keep a constant connection to our source of lighting which is the only way to remain lighted. Just like a disconnected electric bulb ceases to glow, so does a disconnected Christian cease to lighted. It were better not be a Christian, than to be a disconnected Christian. Get connected! Get lighted! And fulfill God's divine mandate by letting God light your candle(your spirit) on daily basis, with His word in the place of devotion to Him. This will guide you on how to live your life to fulfill God's eternal purpose.

Corrupt Gospel

by Nkop Mmekeme

A man's character is a direct reflection of what goes on in his inside. Our behavior at every moment is such that passes a message, ranging from our looks, gestures, actions and reactions. It is pertinent to note that every one of the aforementioned takes its root from the mind, based on the inputs made to it at any moment. The mind unconsciously, and most times without our permission (especially when we don't take note) processes practically anything that comes to it. The result is seen in our behaviour.

As we carry out our daily endeavours, we should be conscious of the message we send to the minds of people, whether it is good or bad. The impact of such messages, is traceable to the influences on our hearts in form of inputs.

Every child of God carries a message and that message is the gospel of Christ. This gospel is beyond the one we preach or profess, it boils down to the character we possess. Our character preaches louder than the words we speak. Apostle Paul in one of his letters describes Christians as LIVING EPISTLES not written on tablets of stones, but on fleshy tablets (human hearts). This goes further to suggest that our lives as Christians should leave a positive impression on the hearts of people around us. Little wonder the Bible goes on to elucidate the fact that "we are the aroma of Christ: to those who are saved we are the smell of sweet perfume and those who are perishing, the sound of judgement."

Let's quickly remind ourselves that Christianity is not just another religion, but a LIFE IN GOD". Our lives is meant to be a sermon. What kind of message do you preach on daily basis is a rhetorical question we should ask ourselves. We have received the mind of Christ as we have come to understand, but the LIFE OF GOD doesn't seen to be absolutely reflected in us, because our gospel has been corrupted. Our environment today is polluted with a lot of negativity, and the influence of these negativity has gone a long way into corrupting our gospel.

Now, I seem to grasp the reason why scriptures say "a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump". It is rather unfortunate that a child of God is trying to keep himself holy and at the end of the day, the things he sees on the public TV for examples, sows some form of negative influence on such lives, and in the long run corrupting the gospel we preach by our lifestyles. These influences comes in different very subtitle forms, ranging from music, pornography on the internet, wrong company and a whole lot. The effect is that it corrupts our heart with sinful thoughts and chokes Christ out of our minds, corrupting the eventual output of our hearts in form of our behavior, which must definitely be nothing to write hone about.

When the bible talks about "sleep", it is not physical, it has to do with the mind, it's about loosing consciousness of the influences that make inputs to your thought-life. These influences will either improve your gospel, or corrupt it in the long run. BE CAREFUL, guard your heart with all diligence, that your gospel be NOT CORRUPTED.
